One of the best ways to surprise a loved one on thier birthday is to wake them up at dawn with a bunch of friends singing happy birthday. Food, especially a birthday cake, should be brought by the group so that a small celebration can follow.

No matter where you live, there is history in your town. Do some research and find something that would interest you and your partner. Find an old building and learn all about the owners, builders, inhabitants, etc. Take a tour around your town running from one set of history to another. Find out where your partner is from and find out about that town. Find out about some of her family and her background to bring him/her “back to their roots”. Geneology is very cool, no matter what you think. Have your date deal with nothing but town history, old theaters, old restaurants, old anything to spice things up.
